Two arrested with Yaba

Law enforcers arrested two people with 1,290 Yaba pills in separate drives in two villages of the district on Saturday night.

The arrestees are Mohammad Rubel, 15, son of Ruhul Amin of Joyondipur village under Sadar upazila, and Sohel Rana, 25, son of Abdur Razzak of Telkupi village under Shibganj upazila.

A team of Rapid Action Battalion 5 (Rab-5) from Chapainawabganj camp raided one Ruhul Amin's house at Joyondipur village at around 6:30pm and arrested his son Rubel from the house for selling Yaba pills. They seized 1,000 pills from his possession, said Commander of Chapainawabganj Rab camp Squadron Leader Sayeed Abdullah Al Murad.

In another drive, a BGB team arrested Abdur Razzak from Telkupi village in Shibganj upazila at around 9:00pm and recovered 290 Yaba pills from his possession. They also seized his motorcycle and two mobile phone sets, said Commanding Officer of Border Guard Bangladesh 59 Battalion Lt Col SM Salahuddin.
