Trader killed

Unidentified criminals shot a fish trader to death in Rajastoli upazila of the district on Monday.

The deceased, Muhammad Jalal Uddin, 28, was son of Ainul Haque of Bazarpara area in the upazila.

Quoting locals, police said villagers heard sound of gunshots from Jalal's house around 1:45pm on Monday and informed the matter to local police station.

Being informed, a police team went to the spot and found Jalal lying unconscious at his room, OC of Rajastoli Police Station Mofazzal Ahmed Khan said.

They rescued bullet-hit Jalal and took him to a local hospital, where the doctors declared him dead, the OC said.
