Three women among 5 found dead in five dists

Five people, including three women, were found dead in Tangail, Chapainawabganj, Narsingdi, Gaibandha and Panchagarh yesterday and on Saturday, report our correspondents.

In Tangail, the body of a local fruit trader was found in Madhupur forest area on Saturday evening.

The deceased, Abdul Kader, 35, was son of late Wazkoroni of Jangalia village.

Madhupur Police Station Officer in Charge (OC) Shafiqul Islam said Kader went missing after he came out of his house on Thursday morning.

Kader's family members lodged a general diary with the police station on Friday after failing to find him anywhere, he said, adding that locals saw the body in the forest area on Saturday and informed police. 

A police team recovered the corpse which bore marks of stabbing on the body and burn injury on the face and also seized a motorcycle near the spot.

Away in Chapainawabganj, the body of a woman was recovered from Octroi More in the town yesterday.

The deceased was Mousumi Khatun, 34, daughter of Azizur Rahman of Atahar village.

Sadar Police Station Inspector Golam Kabir said local people saw the body, with her hands and legs tied with rope, in a mango orchard and informed the police, who recovered the body and sent it to Sadar Hospital for autopsy.

Police suspect that the criminals might have left the body after strangling her somewhere else.

Our Brahmanbaria correspondent reported that, an unknown woman, aged around 35 years, was found murdered in Dakkhin Kararchar area of Narsingdi's Shibpur upazila on Saturday.

Sub-Inspector Shaminul Alam of Shibpur Model Police Station said informed by locals, they recovered the body from a banana orchard.

Police suspect that the murder might be a sequel to previous enmity as the body bore several injury marks, said the SI.

Away in Gaibandha, a housewife was found dead at Chalk-Narayan village in Sadullapur upazila on Saturday.

The victim, Mairon Begum, 48, was wife of Lavlu Mia of Baishnabpur village.

Police recovered a cellphone from near the corpse and sent the body to Gaibandha Sadar Hospital for autopsy, Officer in Charge of Sadullapur Police Station Arshedul Huq said.

Meanwhile, the body of an unidentified man, aged about 42 years, was recovered from a pond in Boda upazila of Panchagarh yesterday.

Police said villagers spotted the body floating in a pond and informed police, who recovered it and sent it to Panchagarh Sadar Hospital for autopsy, Officer in Charge of Boda Police Station Abu Hayder Md Ashrafuzzaman said.
