Three hundi traders held

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) detained three suspected international hundi traders along with 1.15 lakh US dollar from Khajura Bus Stand area in Jashore town on Friday night.

The arrestees were identified as Shah Alam, 32, of Balunda village, Masud Rana, 28, of Ramchandrapur village, and Zakir Hossain, 36, of Gajipur village, under Benapole Port Police Station.

Lt Col Selim Reza, commanding officer (CO) of BGB 49 Battalion, said a BGB team, acting on a tip-off, intercepted a Dhaka-bound private car from Benapole around 10:00pm, and detained three passengers of the car.

After searching their bodies, the border guards seized 1.15 lakh US dollar from their possession, the CO added.
