Sunamganj district registrar dies of Covid-19

Sunamganj District Registrar Shamuzzaman Sardar died from Covid-19 yesterday.

He breathed his last at Rangpur Medical College Hospital yesterday morning while receiving treatment there, said a law ministry press release.

Law Minister Anisul Huq expressed deep shock at the demise of Shamsuzzaman Sardar and prayed for salvation of the departed soul.

The law minister also expressed sympathies for the bereaved family members.

Law Secretary Md Golam Sarwar, Inspector General of Registration Shahidul Alam Jhinuk and Bangladesh Registration Service Association, also expressed deep sorrow at the demise of Shamsuzzaman Sardar, according to the press release.

Shamsuzzaman Sardar was recently promoted to the district registrar of Sunamganj from sub registrar of Cox's Bazar's Chakoria. But, he could not join the office as he was infected by Covid-19 infection.

Shamsuzzaman from Ulipur of Kurigram left behind his wife, two daughters and a host of loved ones to mourn his death.
