Inspector General of Police Mohammad Javed Patwary today asked all to stay away from militancy and drug abuse to build a prosperous Bangladesh.

“You have to maintain distance from militancy and abuse of drugs,” the IGP told children while speaking at an art and quiz competition of children at Bangladesh Police Auditorium at Rajarbagh.

Bangladesh Police Liberation War Museum arranged the programme to mark the 99th birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Children's Day, and the 49th Independence and National Day. The IGP later handed over awards to the winners.

The police chief also urged the parents to build their children as good citizen of the country.

Noted writer Selina Hossain attended the programme as the key speaker.
