Shaheed Minar damaged in Pabna school

The Shaheed Minar at Shalgaria Government Primary School was found damaged when the teachers and students went there yesterday.

Headmaster Md Shahidul Islam said one of the three pillars was found broken and lying near the school building.

“When we came to the school in the morning we found that the Shaheed Minar was broken. We don't know who damaged it and how,” the headmaster said.

This is a heinous offence, the headmaster said, adding that the school managing committee members have visited the school.

A general diary will be filed with Pabna Police Station in this connection, he added.

Officer-in-charge of the police station Md Obaidul Haque said the school authorities did not inform the police about the matter as of filing of this report at 4:00pm.
