‘Punish killers of FF Latif Khan’

Muktijodhya Santan Command of Tangail district unit formed a human chain in the town yesterday, demanding arrest and capital punishment of the criminals, who killed valiant freedom fighter Abdul Latif Khan during a village arbitration.

They organised the human chain programme in front of Tangail Press Club at noon.

Among others, Sheikh Atiqur Rahman Babu, central committee president of Muktijodhya Santan Command and its General Secretary Farhana Yasmin, and Tangail district unit President Omar Faruk Biplob, spoke on the occasion.

The speakers said killing of freedom fighter Abdul Latif was pre-planned and those involved in the attack are all known faces in the locality.

They demanded immediate arrest and exemplary punishment of the culprits, otherwise, threatened to go for tougher movement soon.

Earlier, Abdul Latif was beaten to death allegedly by his neighbours during a village arbitration centring a trifling matter in Basail upazila on October 31.

The following day, victim's son Habib Khan filed a murder case with Basail Police Station accusing 11 people.
