Prime accused arrested after 3yrs

Police arrested the prime accused in connecting with a case for killing three of a family in Galachipa upazila of the district 3 years back.

The law enforcers detained Shahid, son of Idris Mollah, from Dhaka's Savar area on October 10 and produced him before a court the following day, seeking 10 days remanded, Patuakhali Superintendent of Police (SP) Moinul Hasan told the reporters at a briefing at his office yesterday.

On night of August 1 in 2017, unidentified criminals killed Delwar Mollah, 65, his wife Parveen Begum, 65, and their adopted daughter Kazoli Akhter, 15, at their house.

The following morning, police recovered their bodies and sent those to Patuakhali General Hospital for autopsy.

During primary interrogation, Shahid confessed his involvement in the murders.
