Ferry services on the key Paturia-Daulatdia route resumed 10 hours after suspension due to dense fog.

The ferry service resumed around 10:00 am when fog started to clear, said Zillur Rahman, deputy general manager of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) Aricha office.

As "marking lights" of ferries could not be followed due to dense fog, the authorities suspended the ferry movement around 11:45 pm yesterday to avoid accidents, said the BIWTC official.

Hundreds of vehicles were seen waiting on both sides to cross the river Padma, reports our Manikganj correspondent.

Besides, five ferries carrying passengers and vehicles also got stuck in the middle of the river following the suspension of ferry services.
