One new dengue case reported in 24 hours: DGHS

One new dengue case has been reported in the country in the 24 hours till 8:00am this morning, Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said today.

The new case was found outside Dhaka, said a press release from DGHS control room.

Three other patients diagnosed with dengue, a mosquito-borne deadly disease, are being treated at different hospitals in Dhaka, it said.

Since the beginning of the year, a total of 311 people have so far been diagnosed with dengue across the country.

Of them, 307 have already recovered, the health authorities reported through the release.

A total 1,01,354 dengue cases were reported last year, of which 49,544 were outside Dhaka. The number of deaths from dengue was 179, according to the DGHS.
