One killed, 5 injured as train hits human hauler in Pabna

A man was killed and five others injured when a train hit a three-wheeler, locally known as "Nasiman", in Sujanagar upazila of Pabna this morning.

The deceased, Dabir Uddin Khan (60) of Tatiband village, was standing beside the railway tracks when the accident occurred at the Tatibandh crossing on Dhalarchar-Rajshahi route.

Md Bodruddoza, officer-in-charge of Sujanagar Police Station, said the human hauler hit Dabir Uddin in turn after being hit by the Rajshahi-bound train "Dhalarchar Express" at about 8:30 am.

Five passengers of the "Nasiman"-- Alom Hossain (50), Asif Iqbal (22), Aminul Islam (45), and Shajahan Ali (70) -- were injured and are in critical condition, reports our Pabna correspondent.

They were undergoing treatment at Pabna General Hospital.
