A woman and her two minor daughters were killed allegedly by her ‘drug addict’ brother-in-law in Siddhirganj upazila of Narayanganj, police said today.

The alleged killer, Md Abbas, also stabbed his own daughter Sumaiya, 15, leaving her seriously injured, reports our Narayanganj correspondent quoting Rarun-Ur-Rashed, superintendent of police in the district.

Informed, police recovered the bodies of Nasrin Begum, 26, wife of Suman Mia, and her two daughters -- Nusrat, 8 and Khadiza, 2, -- from their rented flat in CI Khola area around 11:00am.

With stab wounds, Sumaiya was rescued and sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in critical condition.

Th SP said Abbas had a quarrel with his wife Yesmin Begum, a garment employee who yesterday moved to the flat of her younger sister Nasrin, the police officer said.

Abbas came to the house in the morning after his wife left for her workplace. Then, he stabbed Nasrin and her two daughters to death and also injured Sumaiya, SP Rarun-Ur-Rashed said.

Operation is going on to arrest the Abbas, he added.

“My father killed my aunt and her two daughters. He was a drug addict. He even beat me yesterday and that why, me and my mother came to my aunt’s house,” a sub-inspector Abdul Khan of DMCH quoted Sumaiya as saying.

Nasrin’s husband Suman, a petrol pump staff, said he found the front door open when return home from work after night duty around 10:00am.

Entering the house, he found the bodies of her wife and daughters and injured Sumaiya lying on the floor and informed police, Suman said.

Police recovered the bodies from fifth floor of the building and sent those to Narayanganj General Hospital for autopsy, said Sazzad Romon, inspector of Special Branch of Police.
