Mizanur Rahman appointed Bangladesh envoy to Oman

The government has decided to appoint Mizanur Rahman as the next ambassador of Bangladesh to Oman.

Mizanur Rahman is currently serving as Bangladesh high commissioner to Canada, according to a release of the external publicity wing of the foreign ministry issued today.

A career foreign service officer, Mizanur Rahman belongs to the 1985 batch of Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) Foreign Affairs cadre.

In his distinguished diplomatic career, he served in Bangladesh missions in Colombo, Moscow and Manchester.

Prior to his present assignment, he served as ambassador of Bangladesh to The Netherlands and to Egypt.

At the Headquarters, he worked in various capacities including as the director general of multilateral economic affairs and director general of administration.

He also served in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as additional secretary (Bi-lateral and Consular) and later as secretary (Bi-lateral and Consular).

Mizanur Rahman obtained his MSc in Physics from Dhaka University.
