Missing kid rescued after 8 months

A six-year-old girl, who went missing from Bogura eight months ago, returned to her parents yesterday after police rescued her from Birampur upazila of Dinajpur the day before.

Police found the girl, daughter of Rana Islam of Joypur Paschimpara village under Bogura Sadar upazila, in front of Birampur petrol pump on Saturday afternoon.

“The girl went missing from Joypur Paschimpara village on December 3 last year. After rescuing the girl on Saturday afternoon, police posted her photo on Facebook,” said Moniruzzaman, officer in charge (OC) of Birampur Police Station.

As the girl’s photo came to the notice of her father, he contacted with Birampur Police Station and went there yesterday morning.

“The man with her daughter left for Bogura after completing the formalities. The girl was found in Birampur in an unhurt condition. We are yet to know who left the kid,” said the OC.
