Missing boy found dead in C'nawabganj

The body of a boy, who was missing since Sunday evening, was found at Horipur-Dewanpara area in the municipality early yesterday.

The deceased was identified as Redwan Ahsan Hridoy, 8, son of Abdur Rahim of Horipur-Dewanara in the municipality area. He was a second grade student of Mecca Model Madrasa.

Sadar Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ziaur Rahman said Hridoy went missing on Sunday evening and his father lodged a general diary with the police station at around 11:00pm.

Later, police went to the area and found Hridoy's body a few yards from his house at around 1:30am yesterday.

“Primarily, we think that he was strangled to death and his body was dumped in the area. Police sent the body to Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy,” the OC said.
