Man kills brother

A youth was killed allegedly by his younger brother in Indurkani upazila of the district on Monday night.

The deceased, Forkan Howlader, 30, son of Abdus Salam Howlader, was a resident of Sayeedkhali village in the upazila.

Mohammad Mamun Ur Rashid, a cousin of the deceased, said Forkan’s younger brother Solayman Howlader has been suffering from mental depression for the last four months.

Around 10:00pm, when Forkan was asleep Solayman hit him on the head with a stick, leaving him critically injured.

Family members took Forkan to Pirojpur Sadar Hospital where the doctors declared him dead.

Police detained Solayman from the village yesterday morning, OC of Indurkani Police Station Habibur Rahman said, adding that deceased elder brother Shahin Howlader filed a murder case with the police station yesterday accusing Solayman.
