Man killed by wife, another badly injured

Two alleged culprits arrested

A man was brutally killed allegedly his wife at Mashinda village under Gurudaspur upazila of Natore, while another man sustained serious injuries as his wife cut his penis in Balitha area of Dhamrai upazila in Dhaka early yesterday.

The victim in Natore was Kabil Biswas, 32, son of Narshed Ali of Dhankuri village under Chatmohor upazila of Pabna, reports our correspondent.

Gurudaspur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Selim Reza said Kabil Biswas married Rumi Begum four months ago. Since then, Kabil used to sexually harass his wife after taking sex stimulating drugs.

Two weeks ago, Rumi and Kabil had an altercation over the matter and Rumi returned to her father's house.

Kabil went to his in-laws' house at Mashinda village on Friday and again harassed Rumi after taking the stimulants.

At one stage, Rumi cut her husband's testicles with a sharp weapon, leaving him dead on the spot.

Police arrested Rumi from the spot and sent the body to Natore Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy, the OC said.

Meanwhile in Savar, a woman was arrested on charge of cutting her husband's penis in Balitha area under Dhamrai upazila of Dhaka yesterday, our Savar correspondent reports.

The arrestee was Rozina Begum, 25, wife of Sumon Mia, 30, of the area.

Police said the couple had a dispute over Sumon's illicit affairs with other women.

On Friday night, Rozina fed a sleeping drug to her husband with dinner and cut  his penis with a blade at around 1:00am.

Hearing Sumon's screams, his family members rushed to his room and took him to Savar Enam Medical College Hospital.

“Surgery was conducted on the victim's penis. Although the penis was not severed, he is not out of danger,” said Nasir Uddin, operation theatre in charge of the hospital.

Dhamrai Police Station Officer-in-Charge Dipak Chandra Saha said a case was filed in this regard.
