Man killed by brother

A man, who was stabbed allegedly by his elder brother and nephew over a trifling matter in Jashore Sadar upazila on Tuesday night, died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Wednesday night.

The deceased, Akbor Ali, 55, was son of Aju Mollah of Bagdanga village.

Quoting the victim’s family members, police said Akbor went to his brother Nur Islam’s house on Tuesday night and locked in an altercation over a personal issue.

At one stage, Nur and his son Enamul Islam stabbed Akbor with sharp weapons and fled the scene, leaving him critically injured.

Locals rescued Akbor and took him to Jashore General Hospital from where he was later referred to DMCH.

He died at the hospital while undergoing treatment around 11:00pm, police said.
