Man found murdered

Police on Tuesday recovered the throat-slit body of a man in Nawabganj upazila, a day after he went missing on Monday.

The deceased, Mizanur Rahman, 35, a rickshaw-van puller, was son of Lal Mia of Tentulia village in Phulbari upazila.

Deceased's younger brother Anwarul Islam said Mizanur went out of his with his rickshaw-van on Monday afternoon and remained missing since then.

Police said some locals of Pulbandha village in Nawabganj found his throat-slit body inside a roadside bush in the evening and informed them.

Being informed, police recovered the body and sent it to M Abdur Rahim Medical College Hospital for autopsy.

Sub Inspector (SI) of Aftabganj Police Investigation Centre Nawabur Rahman said criminals might have killed him and took away his rickshaw-van.

They were trying to arrest the culprits involved in the murder, the SI added.
