Man dies in B’baria clash

An elderly man was killed and 25 others were injured in a clash between two rival groups at Bodda village in Sarail upazila yesterday.

The deceased was identified as Shamsu Mia, 70, a resident of the village.    

Police and locals said there was a longstanding conflict between local union parishad member Oli Ahad and Shamsu over establishing supremacy in the area.

As a sequel to the conflict, the men of the two rivals attacked each other with lethal weapons, leaving Shamsu dead on the spot and 25 people from both sides injured.
