Confirming the matter, Md Mokammel Hossain, superintendent of the district jail, told The Daily Star that the quizzing began this morning.

The four-member probe committee reached the jail around 11:00am, he said.

Later they started to quiz Pradeep, Inspector Liaqat Ali and Sub-inspector Nandadulal Rakshit, accused of murdering Maj (retd) Sinha.

On the same day Pradeep was withdrawn from Teknaf Police Station.

On August 6, a local court sent seven of the nine accused to the district jail rejecting their bail petitions.
