Mahbub Hassan Saleh made Bangladesh envoy to Belgium

The government has decided to appoint Mahbub Hassan Saleh as the country's next ambassador to Belgium.

He is currently serving as the minister and deputy chief of mission to the Embassy of Bangladesh in Washington DC.

Saleh is a career foreign service officer belonging to 15th batch of Bangladesh Civil Service in Foreign Affairs cadre. Over the last 24 years, he has served in various capacities at Bangladesh missions in Kolkata, Seoul, Canberra, and New Delhi.

At the headquarters, he worked in various capacities under different wings. He also represented Bangladesh at several international forums.

Mahbub Hassan Saleh obtained his Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet) and Master's degree in Diplomacy and Trade from Monash University in Melbourne, Australia, winning the award for top graduating student in 2001.

He is also a poet and a well-known public speaker.
