Land Dispute: College student killed

A college student was stabbed to death yesterday centring a feud allegedly over a disputed land in Shailakupa upazila.

The victim, Rokon Uddin Mollah, 20, son of Abdur Rashid of Sheikhpara village in the upazila, was a honours first-year student at Kushtia Islamia College.

Quoting locals, police said there had been feud between Badsha Mollah and his brother Abdur Rashid over a disputed land.

As a sequel, the two siblings locked in an altercation over erecting a cow shed on the disputed land yesterday morning.

At one stage, Badsha's son Shilu Hossain stabbed Rokon with a knife, leaving him severely injured.

Neighbours rushed injured Rokon to Shalakupa Health Complex where the doctors declared him dead.

Officer in Charge (OC) of Shailakupa Police Station Jahangir Alam said they were trying to arrest the killer.
