Housewife killed by husband

A woman, who was stabbed by her husband allegedly over a family feud in Dewanganj upazila on Sunday night, died at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital (MMCH) early yesterday.

The deceased, Rubina Aktar, 25, mother of a new born baby, was wife of Khurshed, 28, of Dakkhin Gamaria village in the upazila.

Quoting locals, Officer in Charge of Dewanganj Police Station Moynul Islam said, following a family feud, Khurshed stabbed his wife on the stomach while she was taking her meal with her parents and other siblings around 9:00pm.

Meanwhile, soon after stabbing his wife, Khurshed tried to take his own life by taking poison.

Family members admitted the couple to MMCH, where Rubina succumbed to her injuries around 4:00am.
