Habiganj MP Abu Zahir infected with Covid-19, airlifted to Dhaka CMH

Md Abu Zahir, the lawmaker from Habiganj-3 constituency and also president of Habiganj district Awami League, was airlifted to Dhaka Combined Military Hospital this morning, two days after he tested positive for coronavirus.

Abu Zahir was shifted to Dhaka CMH around 10:15am as per the instruction of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, said his personal assistant Sudip Das.

Major Dr Ashraful of Bangladesh Army, Abu Zahir's younger brother Badrul Alam and Sudip Das are accompanying him, our Moulvibazar correspondent reports.       

Abu Zahir gave his sample for Covid-19 test on Sunday and got the report the next day. He was in isolation at his own residence, Sudip said.

Recently, the lawmaker visited houses in his locality to provide government and his personal aid to those hit hard financially by Covid-19, his brother Badrul Alam said.
