Gazipur city executive engineer found dead

Gazipur City Corporation's executive engineer was found dead at Beribadh in Dhaka's Turag area today.

Police recovered the body of Delwar Hossain early in the day, our local correspondent reports.

The body bore injury marks, Officer-in-Charge of Turag Police Station Nurul Muttakin said, adding the victim might have been strangled to death.

Delwar had been missing since Monday morning after he left his Dhaka residence for Gazipur, said Gazipur City Corporation's Chief Accountant Golam Kibria.

His mobile phone was also switched off, he added.

The body was sent to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital in the capital for autopsy, police said.
