Freedom fighter Rakhi Das Purkayastha no more

Freedom fighter Rakhi Das Purkayastha passed away today. She was 68.

Rakhi Das, wife of Pankaj Bhattacharjee, president of Oikya NAP (National Awami Party), breathed her last at Apollo Hospitals in Guwahati, India around 6:25pm.

She was also joint secretary of the Bangladesh Mahila Parishad.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death.

She prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and offered her condolences to the bereaved family members.

Meanwhile, Road Transport and Bridges Minister and AL General Secretary Obaidul Quader also expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Rakhi Das Purkayastha.
