Father killed for protesting harassment of daughter in Jeshore

Police today claimed to have arrested Hossain Ali as he kicked a man in his stomach indiscriminately that led him to death in Sharothi Mills area of Jashore town.

Ali locked into an altercation with Abdur Razzak as he was protesting his daughter’s harassment by the stalker in the New Town area this noon.

At one stage, he started kicking Razzak indiscriminately and flee the spot leaving him critically injured.

Later, Razzak, was taken to Jashore General Hospital where he breathed his last this afternoon, our Jashore correspondent reports quoting police.

Police arrested Hossain Ali as case was filed against him in this connection with Jashore Kotwali Police Station, Mohammad Moniruzzaman, officer-in-charge of the police station told our correspondent.

Quoting the case statement, the OC said Ali used to harass the girl and try to blackmail her in many ways.

The victim’s son Samiul Islam Rajon, said neighbor Hossain Ali used to stalk his sister and try to blackmail her showing some objectionable photos.

“Ali threatened to circulate the photos on internet, if my sister does not comply with his demand,” Samiul told the correspondent.
