Exam with faulty question paper

The authorities of Pirojpur Government Girls' High School took the test examination of English First Paper of Class X with an incomplete faulty question paper on Monday.

Of the 12 questions to be answered for English First Paper, problems occurred in case of questions No 4 and 5. Students have to answer the two questions from a given passage but there was no passage for the two questions.

With the information from the given passage, students have to fill up gaps for question No 4 and they have to write the summary of the same passage for question No 5.

The questions were on environment pollution. But there was no passage on it in the question paper.

“After the matter was brought to the notice of the English teacher, he asked us to write the summary for question No 5 from another passage of the question paper. But we could not answer the question No 4,” said a Class X student of the school, seeking anonymity.

Several other examinees told the same.

“There are 15 marks for question No 4 and 5. How will our examiner evaluate our answer scripts?” asked an examinee.

This correspondent went through the question paper and found the allegation true.

“The incident has caused grievance among the guardians of the examinees but they dared not protest it. If any guardian protests the irregularity of the teachers, his/her daughter has to face harassment in the school,” said a guardian.

Most of the teachers of the school force the students to attend their coaching classes, he added.

Dilip Kumar Mridha, headmaster of the school, admitted the incident of taking English First Paper examination of Class X students with incomplete question paper.

“The mistake occurred in the press. The English teacher solved the problem in the examination hall,” he claimed.

The test examination for Class X students began on Monday. The students, who qualify, will appear in the SSC examinations to be held early next year.
