Easy-bike driver found murdered

Police recovered the body of a man from a ditch beside Dhaka-Khulna highway near Nagardia area in Nagarkanda upazila yesterday.

The deceased, Kalam Fakir, 60, son of late Khalil Fakir of Gajaria village in the upazila, was a battery-run auto-rickshaw driver.

Deceased’s son Liton Fakir said his father went out of the house with his easy-bike on Saturday afternoon and did not return house.

Locals spotted Kalam’s body floating in a roadside ditch around 9:00am and informed the police, who recovered the body and sent it to Faridpur Medical College Hospital for autopsy, Officer in Charge (OC) of Nagarkanda Police Station Sheikh Sohel Rana said.

The body bore marks of stab injuries on the back and its hands and legs were tied with rope, the OC said, adding that they are yet to find the auto-rickshaw.
