Diploma docs seek scope for higher education

Central unit of Bangladesh Diploma Chikitsak Oikya Parishad demonstrated in the district town yesterday for realising their four-point demand, including opportunity to get higher education.

They formed a human chain in front of Tangail Press Club to press for the demand.

Their three other demands are formation of a medical education board, appointment of the diploma doctors to each of the community clinics, and giving registration of BMDC at the website of BMDC.

Later, they held a press conference at Bangabandhu Auditorium in Tangail Press Club, protesting deprivation of the rights of diploma doctors.

They warned of tougher agitation if their demands are not met soon.

Among others, Dr Shukur Mahmud, president of central unit of Bangladesh Diploma Chikitsak Oikya Parishad, Dr Maruf Tarafder, general secretary of the parishad, and Dr Mohammad Anower Hossain, its organising secretary, spoke at the press conference.

They also expressed their desire to meet the prime minister in this regard.
