The mayor has been putting pressure on the plaintiff Md Jahidul Islam, the pickup van driver of the company, to withdraw the case, said the plaintiff, adding that the vehicle was held by the mayor today as he did not do so.

Jahidul said that he parked the vehicle in front of Daak Bungalow under Char Fasson Police Station. Later, the security guards of mayor Badal Krisna Debnath took the vehicle to the municipality premises at around 11:00am.

The security guards also took the key of the vehicle from the driver, he said.

Later, the mayor sent the vehicle to the police station.

Contacted, Monir Hossain, officer-in-charge (OC) of Char Fasson Police Station, said, they took a general diary from the driver Jahidul in connection with the incident and handed over the vehicle to the driver.

The OC also asked the accused to solve the matter through court.

Contacted, Mayor Badal denied the allegation of holding any vehicle of Transcom Distribution Company Ltd, saying that the driver locked into altercation with the persons who were made accused in the case filed by Jahidul on the road.
