Chairman, 2 vice chairmen candidates without rivals

The chairman and two vice chairmen aspirants of Hatiya upazila parishad in the district are going to be elected unopposed.

Voting to the three posts -- chairman, vice chairman and female vice chairman -- of the upazila parishad was scheduled to be held on March 18.

But three Awami League activists Mahbub Morshed, Obayed Ullah Biplob and Momtaz Begum Lovely are the single candidate for chairman, vice chairman and female vice chairman posts respectively.

No one else submitted nomination papers and the deadline for filing nominations expired on February 18, said Jakir Hossain, assistant returning officer of the polls.
