Case filed against father for daughter’s murder in Bagerhat

A two-and-a-half-year-old girl, was reportedly killed by her father in Bagerhat's Mollahat upazila.

The deceased was identified as Raisa Akter, daughter of Humayun Sardar of Udaipur village.

Raisa's grandfather Abdul Ali Sheikh filed a case with Mollahat Police Station accusing four people including the victim's father early today in connection with the incident on Monday night.

According to the case statement, Raisa's father Humayun Sardar threw her on the floor of his house in Udaipur village on Monday night following a family feud, leaving her dead on the spot.

Police later recovered the body and sent it to Bagerhat Sadar Hospital for autopsy, said Kazi Golam Kabir, officer-in-charge of Mollahat Police Station.

Humayun has been absconding since the incident, our Bagerhat correspondent reports quoting the police official.
