Boy dies as mobile phone explodes in Habiganj

A boy has died in an explosion of a mobile phone in Bahubal upazila of Habiganj.

The deceased was identified as Saju Miah, 14, son of Jalal Miah of Chakgaon in the upazila, police said.

The mobile phone explosion took place at the victim’s house on Wednesday night, Md Mashuk Miah, officer-in-charge of Bahubal Police Station, told our Moulvibazar correspodent.

The boy was talking over the phone putting it on his chest while it also connected to the charger, he said.

The chest and a part of his shoulders burnt in the blast killing him on the spot, the police official added.

A case of unnatural death was filed with the police station in this regard, he said.
