Body of Chinese citizen recovered in Banani

Police recovered the body of a Chinese citizen from the Dhaka’s Banani this afternoon.

Deceased was identified as Gaojain Hui, 47, a Chinese national and a stone supplier to the Padma bridge project, Sudip Chakrabarty, deputy commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, (DMP, Gulshan zone) told The Daily Star.

The body was recovered beneath the ground situated behind the victim's apartment building, police said.

The caretaker of the 11-storey building informed police when he discovered something unusual under the ground, the police official said.

On information, police rushed to the spot and exhumed the body.

Police started their investigation regarding the incident, the DC said.

Six persons have already been questioned in this connection, the police official said.
