The action followed the 9 men's decision to join UZ polls in defiance of party's instruction

Election to 13 upazilas in Kishoreganj will be held on March 24, reports our Mymensingh correspondent.

In a letter signed by BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed on Monday evening, the four leaders were expelled from the party post and their primary membership was also cancelled, said Md Mazharul Islam, secretary of Kishoreganj district unit BNP.

Luna is facing Awami League nominated candidate Sakauddin Ahmad Rajon, former president of district BCL, in the election.

In Pabna, although central BNP has decided not to participate in any polls under the Awami League government, five expelled Faridpur upazila BNP leaders are taking part in the upazila parishad election.
