The 40th BCS preliminary test scheduled for tomorrow will not be deferred due to the cyclonic storm Fani looming over the country, Public Service Commission (PSC) has said.

The primary selection test for the civil service will be held as per the previously announced schedule, Bangla daily Prothom Alo reports quoting PSC.

Mentioning the reason for sticking to the schedule, PSC Chairman Dr Muhammed Sadique told the daily that they have decided to take the test according to the stipulated time as the met office forecasts cyclone Fani will make landfall in the country either after Friday evening or on Saturday.

“That’s why we are not planning to defer the examination,” he told Prothom Alo.

The test will be held simultaneously in Dhaka, Chattogram, Rajshahi, Barishal, Khulna, Sylhet, Rangpur and Mymensingh centres.

The two-hour long test will be held from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.

In total, 200 cadres will be recruited in administration, 72 in police, 25 in foreign affairs, 24 for taxes, 32 in customs and excise and 800 in education through the 40th BCS.

However, the number of posts may increase.
