BCL leader’s wrist cut off

Unknown criminals cut off wrist of a Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) Leader in Mathbaria upazila on Tuesday night allegedly over establishing supremacy in the area.

Injured Shuvo Sharma Shil, 20, son of Shyamal Shil of Dakkhin Mithakhali village, is BCL general secretary of ward no 1 in the upazila.

Quoting locals, Officer in Charge of Mathbaria Police Station AJM Masuduzzaman said a group of some unidentified youths waylaid Shuvo, also a first year honours student at Mathbaria Government College, near Hospital road in the upazila town while he was returning home on Tuesday night.

Later, they drag him near an electric pole, cut off his right wrist with sharp weapon and fled the scene, he said.
