Former UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon is coming to Bangladesh on a three-day visit starting from July 8.

“He will attend an international conference on climate change adaptation in Dhaka during the three-day visit,” Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen said this while addressing a programme at the National Sports Council in the city today.

Ban Ki-moon, a South Korean national, has made an immense contribution in the alleviation of global poverty and mitigating climate change while working as the Secretary General of the UN, he said.

“His ten years in the UN was a golden period of the UN…we will be very happy to welcome him in Bangladesh,” Momen said.

Besides, South Korean Prime Minister Lee Nak-yeon will also come to Bangladesh on a three-day visit from July 13-15.
