Armed forces ready to combat aftermath of Fani: ISPR

Bangladesh Army, Navy and Air Force are fully prepared to tackle the aftermath of severe cyclonic storm Fani, said Inter Service Public Relations (ISPR) said today.

“Army, Navy and Air Force are fully ready to conduct emergency rescue operations, relief work and any other crises in the aftermath of Fani,” ISPR said in a statement sent to media.

According to Bangladesh Meteorological Department cyclone is likely to make landfall in Bangladesh tomorrow evening. 

Meanwhile, Army Chief General Aziz Ahmed echoed the same and said that the army has been kept on high alert to tackle the impact of the cyclonic storm.

The army chief came up with the remarks while attending a programme at the firing range at Savar cantonment, our local correspondent reports.

All divisions and area headquarters have been kept ready in the face of the storm that is heading towards India’s Odisha, he said.
