All shops, shopping malls to remain closed across country on March 17

All shops and shopping malls across the country will remain closed on March 17 on the occasion of Bangababandhu's birth centenary.

Bangladesh Shop Owners' Association took the decision in a meeting today to show respect to the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Helal Uddin, president of Bangladesh Shop Owners' Association, told The Daily Star.

However, pharmacy, food stores and other shops for daily necessities will remain out of the purview of this decision, he added.
