AL man stabs BNP leader

A local BNP leader was stabbed allegedly by an activist of Awami League at Tilla village in Rangabali upazila yesterday.

Injured Motaleb Hawlader, 40, president of ward No 5 of Chotobaishdia union BNP, was admitted to Galachipa Upazila Health Complex.

Locals said when Motaleb was going to nearby Naolbunia bazar AL local activist Shakil Mridha stabbed him, saying that no BNP men could live in the area.

Villagers caught Shakil and gave him a good beating.

Rangabali Police Station OC Milon Mitra said he heard a quarrel took place between the two over a personal matter.
