4.6kh gold seized at Dhaka airport

Customs officials today seized over 4.6kg gold bars at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.

On information, the officials recovered 40 gold bars weighing 4.6kg from near the stairs of US Bangla Aircraft that landed from Malaysia around 5:30pm, said Sulaiman Hossain, assistant commissioner (preventive team) of customs.

None was arrested as the gold bars were left abandoned. The value of the gold is around Tk 2.32crore, he added.
