44 illegal structures demolished

A mobile court in a drive removed 44 illegal structures on government land in Chatmohar municipality area yesterday.

Chatmohar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Sarkar Ashim Kumar led the court.

They conducted the drive in Chatmohar Tahanar More, Puratan Bazar, Dakbanglo area, Hospital road and vegetable market area of the upazila headquarters, said the UNO.

On September 12, upazila law and order committee at a meeting identified 44 illegal structures and recommended removal of all the structures from government land, he said.

They issued a seven-day notice to the illegal occupiers to remove the structures but they did not comply with the order, said the UNO.
