4 including two women held with yaba in Faridpur

Law enforcers arrested four people, including two women, with yaba tablets in Faridpur Sadar today.

The arrestees are: Obaidur Sheikh (38), of Bhanga upazila; Anisur Rahman (27), of Nagarkanda upazila; and his wife Happy Begum (22), and Sonali Khatun (26), of Atgharia upazila in Pabna.

On a tip-off, police last night conducted a drive at a house in the area, arrested them and seized 220 yaba pills and four yaba-making machines, said Md Alimujaman, superintendent of police in Faridpur.

Of the arrestees, Obaidur was accused in a case filed with Bhanga Police Station under the narcotics control act, the SP added.

Belal Hossain, sub-inspector of Sadar Police Station, said, "A case has been filed against the four. A local court sent them to jail this afternoon".
