34 school buildings inaugurated

Lawmaker of Thakurgaon-1 constituency Ramesh Chandra Sen yesterday inaugurated 34 newly-built academic buildings of different government primary and high schools in Thakurgaon Sadar upazila. 

The lawmaker, also presidium member of Bangladesh Awami League (AL), attended the programme as the chief guest and formally inaugurated the newly constructed buildings through video conferencing at the upazila parishad conference room.

During the programme, the lawmaker also laid foundation of six more academic buildings for different high schools.

Of the buildings, Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) implemented the project for 22 different primary school building at a cost of Tk 18 crore, while Education Engineering Department constructed 12 high school buildings spending Tk 16 crore.  

While addressing the inaugural session, the lawmaker said present government has taken initiative to bring all the children under primary education.

The government is also conscious about stopping the dropout rates from primary to high school level, he said.
