Three people were killed as a lorry hits a truck from behind on Dhaka-Mymensingh highway in Bhaluka upazila of Mymensingh early today.

The deceased have been identified as Taijul Islam, 30, the driver of the lorry, his helper Bablu Mia, 22, and fish trader Taher Uddin, 47, all hailed from Netrakona’s Mohanganj upazila, our local correspondent reports quoting Sub-inspector (SI) Abdus Salam, in-charge of Bhoradoba Highway Police Outpost.

All the victims were passengers of the lorry, the SI said.

The accident took place in Mehrabari area of Bhaluka around 4:45am, he added.

The lorry was going to Dhaka from Mohanganj with a consignment of fish.

On information, police recovered the bodies and seized the truck but could not arrest its driver as he managed to flee the scene.
