3 accused on 4-day remand

Three people, arrested in connection with the seizure of five lakh yaba pills on Wednesday, were put on a four-day remand yesterday.

The Judicial Magistrate's Court in Kalapara upazila of Patuakhali granted the four-day remand for the three accused after police produced them to the court around 11:00am with prayer for seven days' remand for each,” said Saidul Islam, officer-in-charge of Mohipur Police Station.

“We are trying best to find out the ringleader of the gang,” he added.

On Tuesday evening, Bangladesh Coast Guard seized five lakh yaba pills and held Mosharaf Hossain, 35, and Badal Khan, 32, from the Ramnabad river in Patuakhali.

The other accused, Elias Sarder, 36, was arrested by police from Mohipur area on Wednesday.
